Hi to our wonderful members and supporters

I trust that you are all keeping safe and well.

Please find attached our Water Quality Monitoring results for March, 2023. You will note that only half the sites have been monitored in line with the explanation accompanying February’s results.

We have included, for the first time, results for the saltwater side of the Coomera River weir. It is interesting to note that salinity is less then downstream at Koala Town Road due to the direct inflow of fresh water across the weir.

This last month has seen a great influx of baitfish and the accompanying predators such as mangrove jack – a number of people were left lamenting the loss of good sized jacks on live herring.

At low tide the estuarine scent has been quite strong, indicating great river health. There has been significant numbers of bream and estuary cod in the river.

All in all, results (apart from Waterhen Lake) are sound; all we need is around 100mm of rain to give the waterways a good flush.

Kind regards to you all

Steven Gill

Just became aware of this page and want to say thanks to all involved in the planting project on the old farm near Regatta Waters. Can’t believe how big some of those trees are now. As a local from Graywillow Blvd, I’m happy to get involved in the future. Great job guys!!!
