Hi everyone

Please find attached the Water Quality Monitoring results and Chemical Analyses for our waterways for July, 2024.

Recently the EPA website was revisited to determine the current upper limits for the presence of Phosphates and Ammonia Nitrogen in our waterways. The upper limit for Phosphates was 0.10 mg/L which is 0.1 ppm. There was no separate listing for Ammonia Nitrogen that I could find, only Nitrates which had an upper limit of 10mg/L which is much higher than expected.

Putting those limits into perspective, most of the Phosphate readings fall below that limit (with the notable exception of Waterhen Lake which collects only runoff from backyards and streets and has no spring water  to feed it). The search to locate a safe level for Ammonia Nitrogen will continue. My understanding of the safe level of Ammonia Nitrogen in drinking water is a reading of 0.025mg/L. This is for drinking water rather than rivers and streams.

Kind regards

Steven Gill

Just became aware of this page and want to say thanks to all involved in the planting project on the old farm near Regatta Waters. Can’t believe how big some of those trees are now. As a local from Graywillow Blvd, I’m happy to get involved in the future. Great job guys!!!
